Based in Massachusetts, Joe Mygan explores the inner depths of consciousness through sound and image by melding and processing eclectic sources to craft shape-shifting sonic and visual collages. His complex compositions dissect the perception of time, weaving patterns of amorphous samples and synthesis to stimulate out of body experience. He has performed at festivals such as Savage Weekend (Chapel Hill, NC), XFest(Lowell, MA), PUFFERS Festival (Providence, RI), Random Gear Festival (Providence, RI), and HeadExplode.Gif (Boston, MA). His solo and collaborative works have been featured in exhibitions and screenings such as Breathing Artifacts (Chattanooga, TN), Becoming Posthuman (Boston, MA), Boston Cyberarts Gallery (Boston, MA) and Inversion 4 (Chapel Hill, NC). Entangled Dimensions is a collection of real-time audiovisual performance systems that meld signals and data between sound and visual production software to generate and deconstruct layers of abstract virtual landscapes.
